Rick Rasmussen
Director of Startup Programs, Industry Fellow and Faculty Member at UC Berkeley
Rick Rasmussen is a Director of Startup Programs at Berkeley University. Rick is a Silicon Valley native with direct experience in industry, government, venture capital and academia. He has been on executive teams of three separate companies that started with zero revenue, raised rounds from leading VCs, went public and sold for a collective $8B.

Rick's passion is to connect international companies, governments and economic development agencies with the vast resources available throughout Silicon Valley. Also to help build entrepreneurial ecosystems. Rick developed a set of coursework and teach the methodology to organizations worldwide.

Specialties: International connections, CEO and general management, marketing and sales management, business plan development, public and investor relations, contract negotiations, M&A and due diligence.

RICK RASMUSSEN
Industry Fellow and Member of Faculty at the University of California, Berkeley

Rick Rasmussen is an Industry Fellow and Member of Faculty at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the Director of Startup Programs for the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology where he is responsible for creation of new programs centering on Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation. He is an appointed Adjunct Faculty for Northeastern University.

Mr. Rasmussen serves as Head of Chief Mentors for the European Innovation Academy and has run programs ranging from 150 to 500 students in Turin, Lisbon and Doha.

He is a Managing Director of Concordia Ventures, a strategic management firm that assists with innovation ecosystem development for over 20 governments and economic development agencies worldwide

Mr. Rasmussen is a Silicon Valley native that has been part of five IPOs, three billion dollar exits, assisted over a dozen accelerators and mentored over 1000 companies. He is a member of the Sand Hill Angels investment group. Mr. Rasmussen has an EECS degree from UC Berkeley as well as a dual MBA degree from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and Columbia's Graduate School of Business in New York City.

    Digital Future is one of the most active VC funds in Ukraine and active players on the Ukrainian startup scene. Volodymyr is a supporter and mentor for a lot of Ukrainian early-stage companies.

  • Andrew Sorokhan, Team Lead at U.Ventures, WNISEF.
    For the last few years, U.Ventures has become one of the most active venture funds in Ukraine. U.Ventures and Western NIS Enterprise Fund are key supporters for a series of Ukraine's ecosystem initiatives and startup programs.
    Andrii Sorokhan is a Team Lead at u.ventures, venture arm of Western NIS Enterprise Fund, where he manages Fund's early stage investment stream and focuses his work on deal sourcing, due diligence, and support of early-stage startups.


  • Olga Afanasyeva, Executive Director of Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA).
    UVCA was established to spread the word about Ukraine's achievements and opportunities and to support investors in every aspect, from providing reliable information to establishing international connections at the industry and government levels. UVCA is a member of Invest Europe.


  • Denis Gurak, Partner, Member of Supervisory Board at the Innovations Development Platform. Senior Fellow in the American think-tank "The Potomac Foundation".
    Highly skilled business administrator with more than 9 years of experience in technology projects. The last 4 years he worked for UkrOboronProm – the main state-owned defense technology and military equipment industrial holding in Ukraine. He was in charge of international business and trade, reform of the sector and investments attraction. He was representing Ukraine in the NATO Industrial Advisory Group as the Head of Delegation.

    Mr Gurak earned his MPA from the National Academy of the State Governance (2017), LLM in International law from the University of Amsterdam (2014), BA from the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade (2007). He also holds MBA from the International Institute of the Management, Kyiv(2014).

    He was rewarded with the Silver Medal of the National Defence from the Ministry of Defence of France (2016).

  • Ralf Glabischnig, Founding Member of the Crypto Valley Association (Switzerland), Founder of Lakeside Partners and CV VC, Managing Partner of Inacta.
    – Co-founder of Lakeside Partners, a leading early stage investment company in Crypto Valley.
    – Managing Partner of Inacta (www.inacta.ch) a major Swiss Information management solution provider offering Blockchain solutions on Ethreum.
    – Strongly focused on delivering "Distributed Ledger Technologies" solutions for corporate entities and supporting startups in the blockchain space.
    – The initiator of Europe's largest Blockchain Competition (www.blockchain-competition.com) and co-founder of the Crypto Valley Association www.cryptovalley.swiss), committed to developing the blockchain ecosystem both in Switzerland and worldwide.
  • Max Gurvits, Director for CEE and MENA at Cross Border Angels. US/European entrepreneur, investor.
    – Max Gurvits is a US/European entrepreneur and investor. Graduated as a lawyer, Max founded an online legal services company in Amsterdam in 2008. In 2011, he sold the business and moved to Bulgaria, where he was on the founding team of one of the biggest regional tech acceleration programs and funds (Eleven Startup Accelerator and EUR 12m seed fund).
    – Active in Europe and the Middle East as startup advisor and angel investor, Max organizes the TRACTION Camp and Startup AddVenture series of events, connecting founders to skills and capital.
    – In 2016, Max joined Cross Border Angels as Director for CEE and MENA, syndicating 1-2 monthly investments with over 70+ angels and investment firms. In 2017, Max joined a team of data entrepreneurs as a founding team member of a stealth-mode data startup based out of London.
    – He also runs a number of ecosystem and networking initiatives, including Summit Summit (http://summitsummit.io) and Entrepreneur-In-Residence (http://eir-europe.com).
